Markward Playground

If you’re in Philly and haven’t made it out to Markward yet, you’re sleeping on one of the better neighborhood spots in the city. The separate toddler and older kids zones actually make a difference — parents aren’t constantly chasing little ones away from equipment they have no business being on. On a hot day, the water feature pulls in every kid within a six-block radius, and honestly, the shade trees do enough work that you can actually sit on a bench without melting. Throw in a basketball court, soccer field, and a walking path that edges near some decent green space, and there’s enough here to keep multiple generations occupied for a full afternoon.
