Monon Playground

Right off the Monon Trail, this spot has become a legit go-to for Indy families with kids anywhere from toddlers to tweens. The climbing structure is no joke — it actually challenges older kids while the younger ones have their own zone so you’re not constantly holding your breath. There’s a splash pad that gets heavy use in summer, and the soft-fall surface is consistently clean, which honestly isn’t something you can say about every park in the city. Shaded seating, picnic tables, and well-kept restrooms make it easy to stay longer than you planned, and the enclosed play area is a huge win if you’ve got a runner. The pond nearby gives it a nice backdrop, and being on the trail means you can tack on a walk before or after.
