Locals in Independence know this one is worth the trip — the interactive Safety Town setup with an actual working traffic light is a genuine hit, especially if your kid is into riding their scooter or power wheels around like they own the place. There are multiple play zones here, so younger kids and older ones aren’t constantly fighting over the same equipment. Two zip lines, a merry go round, climbing structures, slides, a sandbox — honestly the variety is hard to beat for one park. The rubber surface is a nice touch for safety, and there’s plenty of shaded seating when you need a break, plus clean restrooms and picnic tables if you’re making a day of it. The pond nearby gives the whole spot a relaxed feel that makes it easy to stick around longer than you planned.
