Northeast Park

Honestly, Northeast Park is one of those spots that Grand Rapids locals know about but don’t always talk about — and that’s kind of what makes it great. The walking trails wind close enough to the lake that you get a genuinely solid view, and the mix of paved and unpaved paths means you can bring a stroller or a bike without issue. Kids aged 2-10 have plenty to do between the playground, soccer field, and basketball court, while the open grass field gives everyone room to just spread out. The surrounding trees keep things shady and cool, and the whole neighborhood vibe is quiet enough that it never feels overcrowded. Parking’s easy, the forest access is right there — it’s just a solid, underrated park.
