Riverfront Park Playground

This spot right on the Salem riverfront is genuinely one of the better urban playgrounds in the area — the climbing structure keeps older kids busy while the splash pad does all the heavy lifting for the little ones on hot summer days. It’s the kind of place where you can actually sit down at a picnic table and relax instead of hovering the whole time. The walking and bike path runs right through the park, so it works whether you’re making a full afternoon of it or just stopping mid-ride. Parking is straightforward, restrooms are on-site, and the open grass field gives kids room to just run when they’re done with the structured stuff. Good for ages 2 through 12, and honestly busiest during outdoor events — worth checking the city calendar before you go.
