Russell locals know this one well — it’s the kind of park that actually holds the attention of kids from toddlers right up through teenagers, which isn’t easy to pull off. The zipline is the obvious draw, but the BMX and dirt jump area keeps the older crowd busy while younger ones work the climbing structure inside the enclosed play area. There’s decent shade and plenty of benches, so you’re not standing in the sun while you wait out another hour of “just five more minutes.” Come winter, that open field doubles as a solid sledding hill, and the connection to the New York trail makes it easy to tack on a walk or bike ride. It’s set back from the street too, which matters more than people give credit for.
