The rec center on the northwest side of Como is one of those spots that actually feels like it belongs to the neighborhood — not some generic facility dropped in from nowhere. Kids from toddlers up to tweens have room to run on the open grass field, and the basketball court gets regular use from locals who know each other by name. Staff here are genuinely friendly, the kind that remember your kid’s face after a couple visits. In winter it transforms into an ice skating spot, which honestly makes it useful year-round in a way most parks around here aren’t.
