The water feature keeps younger ones entertained while you actually get to decompress on a bench under the shade trees — a rare win for everyone. The walking path hugs close enough to the Mississippi that you get these genuinely striking river views without having to hike anywhere serious. Rangers run family programs throughout the year, including lighted night hikes that are honestly more fun for adults than you’d expect. It’s urban, but the trails bleed into forested stretches quickly, so it never feels like just another city park.
