Playground | Bob Woodruff Park

If you live on the north side of Plano, this park is probably already your go-to — and for good reason. The playground covers the basics well (slides, swings, climbing structure) but it’s really the setting that makes it worth the trip, with shade trees keeping things bearable even in Texas summers and the lake close enough that you can actually see it from the picnic tables. Toddlers and older kids both find something to do here, which saves a lot of negotiating. The walking trails that wind toward the wooded areas are genuinely pretty, not just a paved loop around a parking lot. Pack a cooler, grab one of the BBQ spots, and plan to stay longer than you intended.
