Bear Creek East Playground (and parking lot)

Honestly, this one’s a solid pick if you’ve got little ones in tow — the rubber shred surfacing means less stress when toddlers inevitably take a tumble. You get slides, swings (including baby swings, which parents of tiny kids know to specifically look for), and a sandbox that buys you at least 20 extra minutes of playtime. The shade trees do real work out here, and with actual benches to sit on, you’re not standing around in the sun the whole time. Views of the surrounding area are genuinely pretty for Colorado Springs, which makes it a nicer hang for grown-ups too. It’s well-kept and feels like someone actually pays attention to it — not always a given.
