Pedrick Pond Playground

If you haven’t been out to Pedrick Pond yet, you’re missing one of the more low-key spots in Tallahassee. The musical equipment here is the kind of thing that actually gets kids to slow down and play together instead of just racing to the slide — though there are slides too, plus a solid climbing structure. The whole setup backs up against the pond and some serious tree cover, so even on a hot afternoon you’ve got shade and a decent breeze. Pack a lunch because the picnic tables are right there, and restrooms mean you’re not cutting the trip short. Little ones through early elementary all find something to do, and the walking path around the pond is an easy add-on once everyone’s ready to wind down.
