Tyne Green Play Area

Right on the banks of the Tyne, this is one of those spots locals keep coming back to because it just works for a proper family day out. The enclosed play area means younger ones can’t wander off while older kids are busy queuing for the zipline — and they will queue for it. There’s a climbing structure to keep them occupied in between, plus enough open grass and walking paths to tire everyone out before the drive home. Picnic tables, a BBQ area, shade trees, and actual parking that isn’t a nightmare — it’s the kind of setup that takes the stress out of a Saturday afternoon. The river views don’t hurt either.
