Shaftoe Green

The fenced toddler section here is genuinely one of the better ones in Hexham — properly enclosed so you’re not constantly chasing a two-year-old toward the road. Older kids get their own separate area too, which cuts down on the usual chaos of big and small ones clashing. The grass field alongside is decent sized, good for a kickabout or just letting them burn off steam. Grab one of the picnic tables and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid afternoon out without going anywhere near a car park or a cafe queue.
