Sawley Playground

Tucked away in Sawley just outside Clitheroe, this little enclosed playground punches above its weight for such a quiet spot. The fencing makes it genuinely stress-free if you’ve got toddlers who like to bolt, and there’s enough going on — slides, swings, a climbing structure, trim trail — to keep kids busy up to around age 10. Bring a packed lunch because the picnic benches actually get used here, and the setting is genuinely lovely rather than your typical tarmac-and-chainlink affair. Parking is easy, and the football net means older kids aren’t left twiddling their thumbs while the little ones hog the climbing frame.
