Hylands Adventure Castle

If you’re anywhere near Chelmsford, this one’s worth the trip. The castle-style climbing structure is genuinely cool — kids get properly into it, running around like they’re defending a fort rather than just going down a slide. There’s enough here for toddlers through to teens, which is rare, and the open grass field means you’re not cramped. Bring a picnic, because the tables actually get used and the whole setup lends itself to a proper afternoon out rather than a quick half-hour stop. Parking, loos, benches — it’s all sorted, so you’re not scrambling for basics.
