Chipstead Recreation Ground

Locals know this one as a solid, no-fuss stop for little ones — swings, slides, a climbing frame, and one of those merry-go-rounds that kids somehow never get tired of. The rubber flooring has that distinct smell on warm days, which is oddly reassuring once you’ve spent enough time at playgrounds. It’s small, honestly, so don’t come expecting a sprawling setup, but for toddlers and young kids it’s just the right size without being overwhelming. Chipstead Lake is close enough that you can wander over after for a look, which makes the whole trip feel worth it. Best suited for the under-sevens crowd — older kids will probably outgrow it fast.
