Lodmoor Play Park

Right on the edge of Lodmoor Country Park, this one’s got a lot going for it beyond just the swings and slides. The play area is fully enclosed, which makes a real difference when you’ve got little ones who bolt — and the soft fall surface and decent sightlines mean you can actually relax on one of the benches for five minutes. There’s a play train the younger kids go mad for, plus a solid climbing structure that keeps the older ones busy long enough. When they’re done, you’ve got walking paths, open grass, and wetlands practically on your doorstep — it’s a proper nature reserve setting with the beach not far off either. Parking’s straightforward, picnic tables are there if you want to make a day of it, and honestly, it’s one of the better free afternoons out you’ll find around Weymouth.
