If you want proper space to kick a ball around without tripping over someone’s picnic, this is your spot. The football pitch gets good use on weekends, and there’s enough open grass for cricket, frisbee, or just letting kids run themselves tired. It sits right on the edge of town with trails leading off toward the trees, so you can make a decent afternoon of it. Lewes doesn’t have a massive amount of green space this size, which is probably why it fills up fast when the weather’s decent — big events and festivals land here too.
