Kendal castle playground

Right next to the ruins of Kendal Castle, this playground makes for a pretty easy sell if you’re already up on the hill with kids in tow. It’s one of those spots where the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting — the castle backdrop is genuinely dramatic, and the kids probably won’t even notice. Worth combining with a wander around the castle grounds, especially on a clear day when you can see right across the town.
