If you’re in the Waiata Shores area with kids in tow, this one’s worth stopping at. There’s a solid mix of equipment — climbing structure, slides, swings, and a merry-go-round — so even the hard-to-please five-year-olds usually find something to get into. The rubber surfacing underfoot is a nice touch, and the shade trees and covered seating mean you’re not just standing in the sun watching the clock. Families tend to stick around longer than planned, partly because there’s a bike track and open grass field to burn off whatever energy’s left over. Soundbird Cafe is close by too, which, honestly, makes the whole outing a lot easier to pull off on a weekend morning.
