Waikirikiri Park Playground

Locals know this one’s worth the trip — the equipment here is genuinely newer and holds up well compared to some of the more tired setups around Gisborne. There’s a solid climbing structure and slides for the older kids, plus a toddler swing if you’ve got a little one in tow. The basketball court and big open grass field mean older kids and teenagers actually have something to do too, which keeps everyone happy longer. Parking’s easy, and it’s got that proper community-hub feel where you’ll often see multiple generations using the space at once.
