The lighthouse slide alone is worth the trip — it’s become one of those Wellington landmarks that locals just take for granted until someone visiting points it out. Right on the waterfront, the whole playground leans into the maritime theme in a way that actually makes sense given the setting, with harbor views you’d pay good money for at a nearby restaurant. There’s plenty of open grass for kids to tear around on while adults grab a bench and watch the ferries come and go. Picnic tables make it easy to turn a quick play stop into a proper afternoon out. Honestly one of the better central city options in Wellington, and the walking path along the water doesn’t hurt either.
