Right on the Wellington waterfront, this renovated playground has become a proper go-to spot for families in the city. The lighthouse is the centrepiece — kids love climbing up and coming down the slide, and honestly it’s been a fixture here for years. There are swings for the littler ones, an interactive waka that always seems to have a queue, and the whole oceanic theme ties it together without feeling tacky. Shaded seating means you can actually sit and watch without squinting into the harbour glare, and the open grass field gives older kids room to kick a ball around. It’s had a solid glow-up from its previous incarnation and gets genuinely busy on weekends — worth going early if you want a run of the place.
