David Tolley’s sculptural play pieces make this spot genuinely unlike anything else in Canberra — these aren’t your standard playground fixtures, they’re actual art you can climb on. The water play area is a lifesaver in summer, and locals know to pack a change of clothes because kids will absolutely get soaked. There’s decent shade from the trees, picnic tables if you want to make a proper afternoon of it, and parking that’s easy enough to navigate. Yarralumla’s a quieter part of the city, so it rarely gets overwhelming even on weekends.
