If you live on the west side of Boulder, this is probably already your go-to spot. The park sits right up against the creek and the trailhead, so it’s got that shady, forested feel even on a hot summer afternoon — the big trees do most of the heavy lifting there. Kids tend to beeline for the steep double slide, which actually delivers enough speed to get some real reactions out of them. There’s also a solid sandbox for the diggers, and the BBQ area makes it easy to turn a playground trip into an actual afternoon out. Restrooms on-site, walking path nearby — it’s one of those parks that has its act together without trying too hard.
