Sloan’s Lake Park Playground North

The pirate ship structure is a genuine hit with kids — they’ll spend way longer on it than you’d expect, especially once they figure out all the climbing options around the big old tree nearby. This is one of the shadier playgrounds in Denver, which matters a lot come July and August when half the city’s parks turn into frying pans. You’ve got the lake right there, clean restrooms that are actually maintained, and enough picnic tables to claim a spot without much hassle. The walking and biking path makes it easy to tack on a lap or two around Sloan’s Lake before or after playtime. Good for the 2–12 crowd, solid parking, and the views across the water don’t hurt either.
