Washington Park Playground

Wash Park is one of those places where you could honestly spend a full day and not run out of things to do. The playground has the usual slides, swings, and climbing structure, plus a sandbox the kids tend to disappear into for way longer than expected. Pack a cooler — there’s a BBQ area, plenty of picnic tables, and enough shade trees that you’re not baking in the Colorado sun all afternoon. The two lakes nearby make the whole setting feel less like a city park and more like a real getaway, and the bike track and walking path mean adults actually have something to do while the little ones play. Parking can get competitive on weekends, so showing up early is worth it.
