Howard Park

If you haven’t been to Howard Park since the renovation, you’re genuinely missing out — it’s become one of the better spots in South Bend for a full family day. The climbing structure and slides are well-thought-out, and the water feature keeps kids occupied for way longer than you’d expect. Shaded seating and a BBQ area mean parents aren’t just standing around waiting, which makes a real difference. The walking and bike paths along the river are a nice bonus, and being right downtown means you can easily pair it with lunch somewhere nearby. It holds up across seasons too, not just summer.
