Universally Accessible Playground

One of the better things South Bend has done for its parks system, this playground actually lives up to the “universally accessible” name — which isn’t always the case. Kids of all abilities can genuinely use the space together, not just alongside each other in separate areas. Locals with kids who have mobility or sensory needs swear by it, and you’ll regularly see multigenerational groups here because of that. It draws a real cross-section of the community, which gives it a different energy than your average neighborhood park.
