Pod Playground

If you haven’t taken the kids to Pod Playground yet, you’re missing out on one of the ACT’s better-kept secrets. The climbing structure and slides are solid, but it’s the sandbox and the way the whole thing sits up against the forest edge that really makes it stand out — there’s a proper sense of being somewhere, not just another flat oval with a swing set. The enclosed area is a genuine relief when you’ve got toddlers running in different directions, and the sightlines are good enough that you can actually sit on a bench and breathe for five minutes. Restrooms and parking on-site mean you can stay longer without the usual scramble, and the walking path nearby is worth a lap or two while the older kids wear themselves out.
