Rainbow Serpent Playground

The giant snake-themed climbing structure here is genuinely one of the more impressive setups in Belconnen — kids go absolutely feral for it, and there’s enough going on (slides, tunnels, musical bits, a water feature) to keep them busy for a solid couple of hours. The lake views are a nice bonus while you’re parked up at one of the BBQ spots, and the shade trees actually do their job on hot days. Parents can keep an eye on things pretty easily from the benches and picnic tables around the perimeter, and there are toilets on site which, honestly, makes or breaks a long visit with little ones. The basketball court and open grass give older kids somewhere to burn off energy once they’ve outgrown the playground side of things. Good parking, good facilities — it’s a reliable spot for families with kids anywhere from toddlers up to about twelve.
