If you’re after a low-key spot that actually delivers for the little ones, Bruce is quietly sitting on a good thing here. The playground sits up on a hill with some genuinely nice views, surrounded by enough mature trees that you’re not baking in the sun while the kids wear themselves out on the slides, swings, seesaw and tunnels. It’s squarely aimed at toddlers through to primary schoolers, and the toddler-friendly setup means you’re not constantly hovering. The open grass field gives older kids room to bolt around, and if you’re lucky you’ll spot some local wildlife wandering through — it’s right on the edge of nature reserve territory, so that happens more than you’d expect. Parking’s easy, benches are shaded, and honestly it’s the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned.
