Hawker Oval Playground

The oval here is genuinely one of the better spots in Hawker for letting kids burn off energy — there’s a lot of room to just run around without feeling hemmed in. You’ve got a seesaw, which you don’t see as much these days, plus a climbing structure that keeps younger kids occupied for a decent stretch. The shade trees do real work on hot Canberra afternoons, which anyone who’s spent time out here in summer will appreciate. Nothing flashy, but it’s a solid local spot that works for a range of ages.
