Lambert Place Playground

Locals know this one’s got a bit of everything without the crowds. The tree shade up here is genuinely good — you can actually sit comfortably while the little ones do their thing on the climbing structure and slides, and there are proper picnic tables and benches if you want to set up for a while. It’s an older-school setup, nothing flashy, but the equipment is solid for the preschool crowd and the sightlines mean you’re not constantly craning your neck. The full basketball court next door is a nice bonus — netless hoops and line games painted on, very old-school Canberra. Chuck in a bike track and open grass and you’ve got a decent afternoon sorted.
