Heney Close Playground

If you’re in McKellar and haven’t taken the kids to Heney Close yet, you’re missing out. The climbing structure is genuinely solid — stairs, a suspended metal bridge, sliding pole, obstacle course — enough to keep a 3-year-old busy while older kids actually push themselves. There’s a swing set with both toddler and standard seats, which is one of those small things that makes a real difference when you’ve got mixed ages in tow. The educational wall games built into the structure are a nice touch, not just filler. Worth knowing: there’s a pond nearby and a safety fence on that side, so you can breathe a little easier while you sit on the bench and actually drink your coffee.
