Locals know Fern Bay Reserve at least does one thing right — the shade situation is decent enough that you’re not frying on a hot summer afternoon. That said, don’t bring kids expecting a big slide, because that’s one thing this place is missing. It’s more of a sit-and-relax spot than a destination playground, honestly. Fine for a quiet afternoon if you’re already in the area, but probably not worth a special trip.
