Those big old trees are the real drawcard here — they’ve been shading this part of Redfern for decades and make the whole place feel surprisingly calm given how close you are to the city. On a hot day, kids make a beeline for the water feature while parents claim a picnic table or get something going on the BBQ. There’s genuinely something for everyone: basketball courts, a soccer field, a bike track, and open grass if you just want to kick a ball around or let the dog burn off some energy. The walking path does a nice loop if you want a gentle wander without committing to an actual workout.
