Play Road Park

Locals with young kids pretty much treat this place as their backyard, and honestly it’s easy to see why. The bike track is the real drawcard — proper traffic signs, a mini petrol kiosk, the whole setup — so kids aged around 3 to 9 go absolutely feral for it in the best way. There are slides to keep the non-cyclists busy, and the shade trees do enough work that you’re not baking on a park bench while you watch them. It’s a quiet corner of Alderley, which makes it genuinely pleasant for a long afternoon with a picnic rather than a quick dash in and out. Well looked after too, which isn’t something you can say about every suburban park.
