The shade here is genuinely impressive — big mature trees cover most of the park, so even on a hot Queensland afternoon you’re not baking on a bench. It’s a quiet Ashgrove street, no through traffic, and the layout makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids without trailing them everywhere. There’s a solid mix of equipment too: slides, swings, a climbing structure, and a sandbox that little ones from about 18 months up seem to love. The soccer field and open grass give older kids room to burn off energy while toddlers stay busy in the sandpit. Restrooms, picnic tables, and parking are all sorted, so it actually works for a proper afternoon out rather than just a quick stop.
