If you’re based out west and looking for a solid half-day spot, this one’s hard to beat. The little ones have swings, a sandbox, and a water feature to keep them busy, while you actually get to sit somewhere decent — there’s proper shaded seating, BBQs, and picnic tables that don’t feel like an afterthought. The creek access is the real drawcard though, and dogs are absolutely everywhere on a weekend morning, which tells you something about the vibe. Shade trees do a lot of heavy lifting in the Queensland heat, and the open grass field gives toddlers room to just run. Brookfield locals know it well, but it still somehow manages to feel like it has space for everyone.
