Cairns Esplanade Fun Ship Playground

The pirate ship setup here is genuinely one of the better themed playgrounds in Cairns — kids go absolutely feral for it in the best way. The water play feature is a lifesaver in the Queensland heat, and there’s enough variety between the slides, swings, and climbing structure to keep the 2-to-12 age range actually occupied at the same time. Parents get good sightlines across the whole thing, which matters more than people admit. Picnic tables, benches, restrooms — it’s all there, and the open grass and walking path along the Esplanade mean you can stretch the outing out well past the playground itself.
