Locals with young kids know this one well — Cambridge Playground in Currajong is one of those spots you keep coming back to because it actually ticks all the boxes. The shade coverage here is genuinely good, with big trees doing most of the heavy lifting so even on a hot Queensland afternoon it stays bearable. Kids get plenty to work with: slides, a zipline, and a sandbox that the little ones will refuse to leave. Pack a bag and make a day of it — there are BBQs and picnic tables on site, plus a decent grass field for the older ones to burn off whatever energy is left. Covers everyone from wobbly toddlers right through to upper primary age, which makes it a rare find.
