Jack Cook Memorial Park Playground

Taringa locals know this one’s worth the trip — the climbing structure actually challenges older kids rather than boring them after five minutes. There’s a decent bike track and walking path looping around, so you can easily make a full morning of it between the playground and the open grass field. Shade trees keep things bearable in the Queensland heat, and the benches are positioned well enough that you’re not squinting into the sun trying to spot your kid. Good pick for school-age kids who need to burn some real energy.
