Birkenhead Naval Reserve Playground

One of Birkenhead’s better upgrades in recent years — this reserve got a solid redevelopment and it shows. The nature playground has a climbing maze and water play area that kids genuinely lose themselves in, plus the usual slides, swings, and climbing structure if you’ve got little ones who need something more straightforward. Parents will appreciate the shaded seating and good sightlines across the space, and the BBQ area makes it easy to stretch a visit into a proper afternoon out. There’s a basketball court, soccer field, bike track, and a decent chunk of open grass if the kids need room to run. Restrooms on-site too, which always matters more than people admit until they need them.
