Mortlock Park Playground

If you live in Colonel Light Gardens, you probably already know Mortlock Park is one of those spots you just keep coming back to. The playground covers the basics well — slides, swings, a solid climbing structure — and there’s enough open grass nearby that older kids and adults aren’t stuck standing around watching. The soccer field and walking path mean it actually gets used by pretty much everyone in the neighbourhood, not just families with little ones. Shade trees do serious work here on hot days, and with benches and toilets on-site, you’re not rushing to pack up after an hour. Dogs are welcome too, which honestly just makes the whole vibe better.
