Cornelian Bay Playground

Right on the edge of the Derwent, this one’s a proper local favourite for families in New Town and beyond. It’s fully fenced, which makes a huge difference when you’ve got toddlers who think they can outrun you — you can actually sit down and breathe. There’s a solid mix of equipment too: slides, swings, a seesaw, climbing structure, sandbox, and even some musical bits the kids go nuts for. Pack a lunch because the BBQ and picnic tables get good use on weekends, and the shade trees mean it’s not a miserable experience in summer. The views out over the bay are genuinely lovely, and the walking path around the area means you can stretch your legs after the kids have burned off their energy.
