West Esplanade Playground

Right on the esplanade in Smithton, this one’s a solid pick for families with younger kids — the accessible design means it actually works for everyone, not just an afterthought. The coastal setting does a lot of the heavy lifting, with that sea air and open feel you just can’t get at an inland park. Best suited for the 3 to 10 crowd, so don’t expect anything too adventurous for older kids. Worth pairing with a walk along the foreshore while you’re at it.
