East Cannington’s got a decent little local park here, and the playground is genuinely new — you can tell because the equipment still looks fresh and the colors actually pop rather than that faded sun-bleached look you get at half the parks around here. Good for all ages, so you’re not stuck watching from the sidelines if you’ve got a mix of little ones and older kids. Pack a lunch because there are picnic tables, and the open grass field means the dog or the older kids can kick a ball around while the younger ones do their thing on the equipment. Nothing fancy, but it does the job well for a casual family afternoon without having to drive far.
