Former quarry turned conservation area — it’s one of those St. Catharines spots that feels like a genuine discovery even though locals have been coming here for years. The gravel trails wind past ponds and right up to the forest edge, so you’re actually seeing herons, turtles, and red-winged blackbirds without much effort. Kids go straight for the tunnels tucked into the educational area, which buys you enough time to catch your breath on one of the benches with a decent view. Parking is easy, there are restrooms on site, and the shade trees along the path make summer visits genuinely comfortable. Bring the dog, bring your binoculars — this one’s worth the trip.
