Whitegate Playground

Whitegate’s little playground punches above its weight for such a quiet village spot. The enclosed area gives parents a proper breather — good sightlines, benches to actually sit on, and picnic tables if you want to make an afternoon of it. There’s a wheelchair-accessible swing, which you don’t always see in smaller community playgrounds around Cork, and the whole place is kept in genuinely good nick. Parking is handy, there’s a grass field for kids who need to burn off steam beyond the slides and swings, and the shops are close enough for an ice cream run after.
